About Us
U Refer has been created by Allied Health Professionals Suffolk CIC in response to our own needs to optimise the way we receive, process and respond to self-referrals. We want to share this product to other organisations within the healthcare sector to improve accessibility, productivity and quality of self-referrals.
As a social enterprise and community interest company our binding ethos is to give back to the communities we serve, and with URefer we aim to do this by providing a cost effective and high quality mechanism to optimise self-referral pathways.
Development
The AHP Suffolk Physiotherapy service were taking hundreds of telephone based self-referrals. This was taking time, too much time!
The solution: power to the people.
We created an online self-referral portal where prospective patients could refer, we could triage and patients could receive advice and guidance immediately. Welcome URefer.
We redesigned URefer from the ground up to allow it to be used by more services and more citizens. With this we also enabled URefer to handle new services, including podiatry, and new locations in the East of England.
Investments allowed us to upgrade the way we collect patient referrals using questionnaires, issue advice and guidance using Physitrack, enabled AI powered translations, and linked in with NHS Digital's patient demographics service. This has enabled URefer to offer one of the most accessible, customisable and accurate self-referral mechanisms on offer.
We are currently working on some big productivity gains using Robotic Process Automation, a new supported self-management function and integration with the NHSapp. This should make it even easier for our team members to provide and our patients to receive excellent care.
